At least LJ status isn't telling me the site is working fine anymore. That was pissing me off. I guess I'm one of those computers that is being shut out. Maybe that's why it worked fine when I was at work yesterday--different computer.
I was going to post a poll or something. I found out that a girl I went to high school with was in a car accident. They had to amputate her leg, which really sucks. So another one of the girls I went to high school with is having a fund raiser for the medical costs. I'm not going to go but she asked for prizes to be raffled off and I thought I could send some books. I mean, they're free, right?
I hated high school. I went to an all-girls school. There were a lot of girls who really bugged me. They were like, overly tanned clones of one another. This girl who was in the accident, she wasn't one of them. I don't remember much about her since we weren't friends. But I think she was one of the athletic girls (another group I didn't hang around with). That made me sad to think about because, it'll be hard to be athletic without a leg.
My problem is that I have no idea what books to get for the raffle. I don't exactly have the same taste in literature as the girls I went to school with. I don't think a majority of them had a taste for literature at all. I would want the Wolverine art book, but I don't think that'd go over well. So I looked to see who else might be going to the event. It's being held at a country club where the injured girl used to lifeguard. Also no help to me. Never been part of a country club. I picture WASPy women in sweater sets.
So what do you think? What kind of books would the most people pay for the opportunity to win? What do normal people want to read?
